Garfield Park will once again host a Cinco de Mayo celebration on Saturday, May 5th:
ALMA ( Association of Mexican Leaders) and the Mexican Consul is proud to announce the fourth annual Cinco de Mayo celebration to be held on May 5th at Garfield Park. It will run from noon until 8pm. It is a family friendly event featuring food, music, arts for the children, and community outreach. Included in this year’s event will be a display of “low riders” auto to tie into the art exhibit at the Garfield Park Arts Center. We will also have the selection of the Queen and her court. The Queen and her court is a fundraiser for a local person in need of a kidney transplant. For further info contact: email@example.com
While you’re at the celebration, you can also check out the complementary exhibits at the Garfield Park Arts Center:
To celebrate the Race Season In Indy, the Garfield Park Art Center is presenting an exhibition/event entitled “Big Wheels”, which will offer the public a collection of Automobile inspired art, memorabilia and car shows that will feature both historic and contemporary car or Race themes. In our lower parking lot, we will also feature an exhibit of custom and classic cars and “Low Riders” from some of Indy’s most talented auto artisans. “Big Wheels” will be an all ages exhibit. The opening reception for “Big Wheels” coincides with First Friday, on May 4th. On Saturday, May 5th, Garfield Park will host the Annual Cinco de Mayo celebration, part of the Mayors Office Cultural Events calendar. We anticipate well over 8000 visitors to visit Garfield Park and the Art Center during this two day event. The exhibit will be open until June 30th, 2007, during regular Arts Center hours.
