Purrs like a kitten

A technician for Brighthouse came out today and replaced the cable that goes from my house to the pole. He said it was really stiff and old. I'm sure it was the original cable from when cable was first installed way back in the day (and long before that thar Internet thingy). So far it's working like a champ.

I always feel guilty when technicians come to my house, because I know they aren't making crap. I can't help but wonder if he could afford the luxury of $50/month for high-speed Internet access. This guy worked for a contractor, not Brighthouse. They usually get paid by the job, not by the hour. The guy was really hustling, which always makes me nervous when drills and ladders are involved. Mel and I try to use service providers who have employees, not contractors, but it's getting harder and harder to do.
